Quote from ATC Quicksilver :That Jake bloke is a brilliant presenter of live television, and he has shown more appreciation for the job he has and the sport he is covering than any other F1 presenter I've ever seen. Speak to anyone who has ever been involved in television and they will tell you what a good job he does. The fact he has to handle Eddie Jordan makes his job hard enough! Perhaps the level of intelligence and wit he displays just goes over your head, maybe he should throw in some swear words or fart jokes to bring the coverage down to your level of understanding.

Agree with what you say, intitally I thought that Jake was the wrong on to do it, but give credit where it is due, he does a great job and the 3 of them (Jake/David?Eddie) seem to complement each other perfectly.

Quote from zeugnimod :He passed Kubica by cutting a chicane.

It was as clear of a penalty as you can get.

I'm becoming a Webber fan now, tbh.

Quote from DevilDare :Just try and remember Spa 2008 with Lewis and Kimi. Very similar incident and Ferrari got the same tough medicine.

Ah fair enough, just woke up late and only caught DC saying it was harsh.

Good win for Weber and looks as if there was a fair amount of overtaking as well. Track change did it's job.

Weber is taking the piss.

I missed what happened to Alonso, but caught the BBC guys saying it was a harsh call, possible payback from the FIA over last race, unsure.

Quote from Joris :Allways good to have a light car on the grid!

Didn't do me that good.

I don't know if it was internet lag or if the Lotus 79 has a poor collision box, but I was noticing some strange contact collisions.

At the start had a decent getaway from the grid, and was gaining on the car in front. Then it seemed to break well before getting close into Copse corner, meaning I had to jut out. Somewhere there apparently I made contact but from my view (and upon viewing the replay) I was nowhere near making contact.

Then in lap 2 on the corner just before Luffield (Brooklands???) the 2 cars in front of me went off, one went into the infield of the track and the other ran wide. As I was trying to pick my way through the, the car that went wide it shot back across track t-boning me.

After I reset the car...I had forgotten to take off the fuel so it added 44 gallons of fuel....Balls. Went around for a further 25/26 laps before the car snapped and threw me into the walls at club, damaging the suspension. Not a good way to end the race.

Well, I've just had my 'Kimi' moment and now all set for the event. Best of luck to all racing tonight.

Quote from Intrepid :Apart from the tragic circumstances surrounding this case (this guy obviously has some serious mental problems) I do find it somewhat disturbing that 500 or so armed officers, the SAS, and the RAF (a Tornado jet) are drafted in to try and find a man in a small northern village, while a gangland shooting in London goes almost unnoticed by the media and Police during the same week.

What...because it is happening "Up north" nobody should care...but another gangbanger geting blown off the streets off london and we should all stop and pay attention.

Quote from Luke.S :I don't think he is actually that bad. He was in jail for assault and when his ex dumped him apparently he was an emotional wreck for ages. When he got out she was taunting him saying her new BF was a cop (he doesn't like cops). That put him over the edge and his letter implied if he had known he wouldn't have done it. He shot that police officer because he felt threatened. He is just a normal guy who was sent over the top and when he snapped he blew his top big time. And now he is regretting it all and considering killing himself.

Bull shit

He's a roid junkie, has been doing steroids for years and it has fecked him up. He gets a bit paranoid and all off a sudden goes off on one when his ex (who has prob tried to tell him it's over) uses the idea of herself dating a cop as a subtle way of getting him telt...so he decides to shoot her, her partner (killing him) and then a nearby cop.....just because he was a cop. And you seem to defend him.

This is not a normal guy who has had a 9-5 job and beaten down constantly by his bosses. This is a known criminal who had been known to deal drugs, his mates that he hung around with are known dealers and he threatened to kill his own mother on a number of occasions. He is everything you want to avoid in when meeting a potential friend. This is the guy that when he sits down at your table....you pretend you've got a phone and get the hell out of there.

Balls to him, let the fecker kill himself...but first take him to an isolated island so no-one has to clean the mess when he finally holds that shotgun to his head and pulls the trigger.

Oh dear...

The thing is, nothing will come of this. If the bank was to refuse and start to hound the club for the cash and force them to go into administration or even bankruptcy, then the bank would see a huge number of their customers leave....it would be business suicide to do anything but grant them the cash. However if it was a lower league/stature club then they will happily hound them until the club is no more, such is the thickle nature of football.

Anyway, enough of the world cup pish..County are into the pre-season games, starting tonight against Clachnacudin of the Highland League. Now this is proper football.

Quote from RiseAgainstMe! :@MAckie the Dutch player played the ball. Uruguay was just a deflection, it doesn't count that way

Just reading back my orginally post, had my head up my arse and didn't explain it too well. If he was onside when the player passes it, yet in an offside position when deflected by the opposing player he is still classed as onside. You can’t be offside if the ball is deflected to you by an opposition player as long as from the start of the move you where onside, imo he was level when the intial pass was made (maybe an arm offside)

As for interfering with play. This is where I have an issue with the law. If you’re not interfering with play then surely you are off the pitch, ridiculous wording of the law and needs to be sorted by FIFA

Correct decision there. Player was level, maybe slightly offside, but in those circumstances the benefit is supposed to go with the attacking team, plus the last touch comes off the defender which means that the player cannot be offside.

Third goal is a nice one. Uruguay are nothing without Suarez

Quote from DevilDare :How was that a saveable goal? Let me paint you the picture - 60mph, 35 yards out, straight into top left corner. The goalkeeper had no chance to get it.

It can be argued that the went for it with the wrong hand, using the left to power up rather than twisting the body and going with the right....

..However it is one of these things that non keepers like to speculate on while we keepers like to avoid thinking too much about.

That ball moved a fair bit, Keeper still could have done better however.
